NJ father of 7 drowns while saving kids at Delaware Water Gap
LAKEWOOD — A father of seven who drowned at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Monday is the second Ocean County resident this summer to die in the river. Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area spokeswoman Kathleen Sandt said rescue teams were dispatched around 1:45 p.m. for the report of a 39-year-old Lakewood man drowned near Bushkill Access in Pennsylvania.

West Orange HS football team poised for another big year
WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange High School football team has been one of the best in the state under sixth-year head coach Darnell Grant. In 2022, the Mountaineers advanced to their first-ever state sectional championship, defeating top-seeded Phillipsburg, 28-7, in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s North Jersey, Section 2, Group 5 state sectional final, before losing to a strong Passaic County Tech team in the North Jersey, Group 5 regional final/Group 5 state semifinal to finish 8-4. It was the first year that the state playoffs played down to the public state group finals.
Grub Hub driver goes psycho on NJ highway, cops say
SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A Grub Hub driver was arrested on Route 1 after police said he threatened to kill another motorist he accused of cutting him off. Township police said they received a 911 call Monday afternoon from a man who said the driver of a white Mercedes was throwing coins and spitting at his car. The other driver also pulled out a knife and threatened to kill him when they stopped at the next traffic light, the 911 caller said.

Montclair High School Football Looks to Finish Business this Fall
The Montclair High School football players were left with a bad taste in their mouth at the end the 2023 season. The last time the Mounties took the field a little more than 10 months ago, they lost a heartbreaker. Montclair dropped a back-and-forth contest at Passaic Tech, 34-27, in the North 1 Group 5 state sectional title game.
