Missouri woman arrested on suspected drug distribution in Osage County
A Missouri woman was arrested on suspected drug distribution charges in Osage County on Monday. Sheriff Chris Wells says the arrest of 37-year-old Kyra Merriman of Kansas City developed after an alleged traffic infraction. An Osage County K-9 unit stopped Merriman at US Highway 75 and 189th Road, about five miles north of Lyndon, and allegedly found illegal narcotics.

Trial rescheduled for Hartsburg man accused of fatally stabbing father
A Boone County man charged with murdering his father two years ago will head to trial next spring. Collin Knight, 25, of Hartsburg, had been scheduled for a jury trial to begin next March. But because of unavailability of the Division 4 courtroom, his trial has been rescheduled for February 25, 2025, with a backup date of April 22.

Columbia woman receives probation for nailing man in basement
A Columbia woman who nailed a man shut in a basement pleads down to one of the three charges filed against her. Alexis Fenton had been charged with third-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and third-degree kidnapping. She pleaded guilty Monday to the domestic assault charge and was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If Fenton violates her probation, she faces four years in prison.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) Female high school athletes in Columbia got a confidence boost Tuesday at the Women's Intersport Network seminar at Hickman High School. According to a study by the National Library of Medicine involving 200 high school athletes aged 16 and 17, about 91% reported experiencing some level of stress related to sports. Mizzou preseason camp begins Sunday
The new college football season will creep one step closer next week when Mizzou kicks off its 2024 preseason camp. Coach Eli Drinkwitz will open the camp with a news conference at 2 p.m. Sunday.
