Statesville Branch NAACP presented prestigious national award
The Statesville Branch NAACP was presented the prestigious Thalheimer Award last week during the NAACP National Convention in Las Vegas. Branch President Todd Scott was shocked and excited when he learned that the local organization had been named the award recipient – and he was honored to accept the award on behalf of the branch’s executive committee and membership.
The Challenge changes ownership, but Belton stays in golf business
Richie Belton says he’s still immersed in the local golf business, just to a smaller degree than the past decade. Belton sold The Challenge Golf Club in Graham in March, but he’s still owner of Quaker Creek Golf Club in Mebane. That’s a course he helped build as the original owner.
