BORDENTOWN CITY, NJ — TAPinto Bordentown is excited to be spotlighting kittens and cats that are up for adoption through Bordentown City Cats (BCC).

This week's featured cats are The Artists Kittens: Frida and Rembrandt, or Remy !

Frida and Rembrandt, or "Remy", should look familiar, as they were featured as our Kitties of the Week in early June . While many cats and kittens have come and gone through BCC’s Adoption and Foster program this summer, Remy and Frida just haven’t gotten much attention, and none of BCC's volunteers can figure out why.

The pair were part of a group of three kittens (the third, Pablo, has already found a permanent home!) originally dubbed "the Trashcan Kitties", as they were found tossed in a trash can in a warehouse. Fortunately, one of Bordentown City Cats' emergency fosters was able to take the trio in and bottle-feed and hand-raise them, resulting in their gentle and affectionate natures.

Frida, who is all-black, and Remy, who is a tuxedo, "have the loveliest personalities and temperaments and would fit in well with so many kinds of households," says BCC. "(They) are sweet and love to cuddle, as well as be playful and silly."

Frida and Remy have been fostered in a home with young children, a small dog and other cats — and they have made friends with them all! "Frida is especially a favorite with the kids in her foster home, and her snuggles have become part of the bedtime routine," says BCC.

Like all cats adopted out of BCC, the two will be neutered/spayed in the coming weeks and will also be microchipped and vaccinated. BCC prefers that these "doll babies" be adopted together because they are becoming quite emotionally bonded and rely on each other as playmates, for comfort, and for socialization.

If you are interested in learning more about Frida and Remy, please reach out to Bordentown City Cats at btowncitycats@gmail.com .

Bordentown City Cats was started in 2003 to address the outside cat problem in the City of Bordentown. The volunteer group has since become involved in rescuing stray and abandoned cats, trapping and socializing feral kittens so they can be adopted, and trapping, neutering and returning (TNR) those that cannot be domesticated to a safe outdoor surrounding. Bordentown City Cats is an all-volunteer organization and nearly every dollar donated goes towards veterinary care and food to support rescue operations and caring for the feral cat population in not only Bordentown City, but all of Northern Burlington County, including Bordentown Township, Fieldsboro, Columbus, Crosswicks, Florence and Roebling.

Donations can be made at the group's secure Paypal site HERE .
