Seacoast communities compete to see who can support the most clean energy
Starting today, Seacoast communities are competing to see which town or city can get the most residents to support clean energy through their electric bill. Dover, Durham, Newmarket, Portsmouth and Exeter are challenging households enrolled in local community power programs to opt for slightly higher electric rates that represent larger shares of renewable energy. The competition runs through the end of January 2025, when utilities across the state will again change their rates on their biannual cycle.

WEIRS BEACH — Almost 300 children and their chaperones from nonprofits served by the Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction were invited to a free narrated scenic cruise aboard the M/S Mount Washington Wednesday morning. Every ticket sold during a Christmas in July fundraiser on the Mount translated to one ticket given to a child. Police officer suspended, accused of ‘serious’ violations

Marblehead Police Officer Michael Robert Farewell was placed on a five-day, unpaid suspension on Aug. 2, accused of falsifying records and violating department policies for use of force and tasers.
