The Bosque County Veterans Memorial Committee is holding its raffle drawing and auctions this Thursday, March 14, at 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Ramblin’ Dan’s Bar & Grill in support of the Bosque County Veterans Memorial.

The gun/knife raffle drawing will start at 8 p.m. There will be other items given away after that with some of the remaining tickets.

Daddy T is going to be our DJ for the evening from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. The silent auction items will be available starting at noon and end at 10 p.m.

There is autographed Dallas Cowboys memorabilia, vintage toys, military items, Cleburne Railroaders tickets, tour for 10 to the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, carousel-like horse and other items as well as a like new condition adult tricycle.

Ramblin’ Dan’s is located at 9309 Highway 6 in Meridian.

About the memorial Donations go toward a memorial for U.S. military veterans from inside and outside Bosque County which will be located at the intersection of Highway 6 and Highway 22 in Meridian.

The plans for the memorial include six large stones representing the branches of the U.S. military with personalized engraved paver bricks placed around the flagpole.

In May 2023, the committee paid the initial down payment ($10,000) for the six stones finished by RMB Monuments.

Anyone wishing to purchase a brick to honor a veteran may do so, regardless of their residency.

Four brick sizes are available to order and range in price from $100 to $550. Donor bricks, souvenir bricks, and donor certificates can be ordered for an additional price as well.

To date, around 100 bricks have been ordered and received by the committee.

The estimated cost to complete the memorial monument project is $150,000.

To make a monetary donation, send a check to the Bosque County Veterans Memorial, P.O. Box 19 Meridian, Texas 76665.
