Members of the Antique Automobile Club of America were welcomed to Bosque County on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

The beautiful sunny, warm weather greeted the caravan as they hit the roads and visited special spots in Meridian and Clifton.

Over 120 car club members and guests cruised over 60 gorgeous classic automobiles from the Hilton in Granbury and on the backroads through DeLeon and Hico.

Outside Meridian, club member Rob Markman hosted a tasty driveup outdoor lunch at his beautiful Meadow Oaks Farm.

After lunch, everyone drove to Clifton to visit the Clifton Classic Chassis Auto Museum for the afternoon, hosted by Dr. Terry Watson and Mike Lewis, mechanic manager.

All of the club’s classic cars were in near perfect condition and quite a sight for people in Clifton.

Some of the classics included a 1959 Buick Electra, a 1962 Cadillac Eldorado, a 1954 Nash Rambler, 1955 and 1966 Mustangs, and several autos from the 1930s through the 1940s.

The Antique Auto Club of America members came from all across Texas – Midland, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio, Houston, Victoria, and Harlingen.

The group enjoyed seeing the entire classic auto collection inside the Clifton Classic Chassis, as well as visiting the Golden Age Gallery of Art & Artifacts and the Clifton Memories Room, all inside the auto museum.

After the tour, the caravan returned to the Hilton in Granbury for an awards banquet that evening.

The event was part of the AACA's 70th Annual Texas Tour, sponsored by the Texas Region Chapter, the oldest AACA chapter in Texas.

The Texas Tour is the oldest running antique car tour in the state. For more information, visit thetexastour.com.
