    Molly Culp took home the $500 Best of Show Award at the 2024 Bosque Arts Center Quilt Show.

    Her quilt “Tarnished Mariner's Compass,” a 92”x100” machine pieced, hand-guided, long-arm quilted work, also garnered first place in its category.

    Phyllis and Ed Reiser of The Screen Door Inn sponsored the Best of Show Award and presented Molly with the honor at a reception Thursday, June 6.

    This year’s show drew 90 entries.

    The winners of the quilt show were recognized for their outstanding craftsmanship and creativity in various categories. Here are the winners and the awards they received: Best of Show: Molly Culp received the top honor with her quilt titled 'Tarnished Mariner's Compass.' This award, along with a $500 prize, was sponsored by The Screen Door Inn.

    Best Original Design Award: Madeline Bell was honored with this award for her quilt 'Rita Came Calling.' She received a $500 prize, generously donated by Joyce and Roland Jones.

    SAR Award: Elaine Smith won this award for her quilt 'Native Texans in Slow Stitch.' She was awarded $300, donated by Citizens State Bank.

    People’s Choice: Pam Herring's quilt 'ACountry Journal' was selected as the crowd favorite during the show, receiving a $300 prize. This award was sponsored by Rick Lundberg, CPA.

    Nancy Pugh Memorial Award: Molly Culp also won this award for her quilt 'Snowflakes at Dawn.' She was presented with a $150 prize, donated by the BAC Quilt Guild.

    Judge’s Choice: Carilyn Alarid received this distinction for her quilt 'Serenity.' She was awarded $150, sponsored by Royal Pizza.

    Best Hand Work: Pam Herring's 'A Country Journal' also won this category, earning her a $100 prize. This award was sponsored by Carlisle Real Estate.

    Best Hand Quilting: Katherine Dossman won this award for her quilt 'Hiss.' She received a $100 prize, donated by Stitchin’ Shack.

    Best Domestic Machine Quilting: Judy Steward was recognized in this category for her quilt 'Friendship Hearts,' and received a $100 prize, also sponsored by Stitchin’ Shack.

    Best Long Arm Quilting Hand Guided: Molly Culp earned this award for her quilt 'Stars on the Horizon.' She was awarded $100, donated by Stitchin’ Shack.

    Best Long Arm Quilting Computerized: Janet Bennett won this category with her quilt 'Lakeside,' receiving a $100 prize from Stitchin’ Shack.

    NACQJ Award of Merit: Pam Herring received this prestigious award for her quilt 'Spools.' This $150 award was presented by NACQJ Judge Sandra Gard and sponsored by Carlisle Real Estate.

    Each of these awards celebrates the unique talents and dedication of the quilters, showcasing a wide range of skills from hand quilting to computerized long arm quilting.

    The BAC Quilt Show & Competition will be moving to the month of August in 2025, scheduled for the weekend of August 15-16.
