Louisiana Downs skybox was buzzing with excitement in anticipation of the announcement of a new restaurant location at the casino and racetrack.

On Wednesday, July 3, Louisiana Downs Casino & Racetrack announced that Lucky Palace would be bringing its historic business to the casino and racetrack.

Mayor Tommy Chandler said, "this is going to just make Bossier even better."

Lucky Palace is an award-winning restaurant and was named Top 100 Chinese Restaurants in the country. With its long history of gourmet Chinese food and extensive wine list this new location will only elevate the historic Louisiana Downs.

Louisiana Downs opened its doors Oct. 30, 1974, with approximately 15,000 fans in attendance for the first day of its inaugural meet. Located on 280 acres in Bossier City, Louisiana Downs has ushered in thousands of attendees for more than 49 years.

On Nov. 1, 2021, Rubico Acquisition Corporation took ownership of the once Harrah's Louisiana Downs. Since Rubico's ownership new shops and updates have been made across the casino and racetrack.

Co-owner and President of Rubico Acquisition Corporation, Kevin Preston said, "taking over something that was built in 1974 It truly is iconic, and you know, we've put millions and millions of dollars into this place."

Lucky Palace is one example of new life Rubico is bringing to this historic site. Preston said, "you know as we continue our journey to bringing this iconic track back to life again... we are bringing two iconic businesses together."

Lucky Palace will officially be closing its current location at 750 Diamond Jacks Blvd. in the third week of August and the new location at Louisiana Downs will open in the first of September.
