CenterPoint Energy Red River Balloon Rally entertains crowds all weekend at Louisiana Downs

Bossier City ushered in one of the summers most anticipated events over the weekend at the Louisiana Downs Racetrack and Casino.

Hot air balloons covered the racetrack field Friday, July 12, and Saturday, July 13, as the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission hosted its eighth CenterPoint Energy Red River Balloon Rally.

Each night was packed with festival goers. Hidden Tracks and Dirt Road Troubadours performed live Friday evening. Total Choice and The Hollow performed on Saturday.

The weekend-long festival included balloon glows, tethered balloon rides, AEP SWEPCO Kids Zone, craft vendors from the Bossier City Farmers Market and fireworks sponsored by Team Logic IT and Stuart’s Integrated Systems.

"What an amazing year for the Red River Balloon Rally at Louisiana Downs," CenterPoint Energy Red River Balloon Rally posted on its Facebook page. "We are so grateful to all who traveled to Shreveport-Bossier and for our wonderful community for attending and making this event so special."

The post continued by saying, "We'll see y'all next year!"
