A walking trail will be temporarily closed and the city's pools will close for the season.

On Friday, July 26, Bossier City Press announced the closure of the Arthur Teague walking trail will be closed for repairs.

According to Bossier City Public Information Officer Louis Johnson, the walking trail will be closed just north of the Jimmie Davis Bridge starting at 6 a.m. Monday.

This closure is in part of the construction of the new Jimmie Davis Bridge. It is expected to take three days to complete. Walkers are encouraged to continue walking just adjust their route.

On Aug. 3, the city will be closing all city pools, marking an end to the swimming season in Bossier City.

Clay Bohannon, Bossier Parks and Recreation Director said that he was glad that the city had a fun and safe summer, and he appreciates all of the citizens that supported the Bossier Parks and Recreation.

This closure comes five days prior to the first day of school in Bossier Parish.
