Back then, school didn't begin until after Labor Day, but now, Bossier Parish, DeSoto Parish and Caddo Parish kids are already down to their last couple of weeks of summer fun and planning to head back to school on Thursday, August 8.

On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G was notified of a vehicle crash involving a truck and a man operating a lawnmower at his residence. The crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 3 north of Kingston Road and ultimately claimed the life of 66-year-old Donald Ward.

SHREVEPORT, LA - Parents and students in schools across Louisiana are on notice today about new rules for cell phone use in schools. State lawmakers passed a measure tightening the rules. Senator Beth Mizell of Franklinton pushed for passage of Senate Bill 207 which won approval unanimously in the Senate and passed 84 to 13 on the House floor.
Lake Bistineau drawdown hopefully will fight salvinia
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has requested that the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) begin a drawdown of Lake Bistineau in Webster, Bossier, and Bienville parishes on Monday, July 2 for the purpose of reducing further expansion of giant salvinia.
