BOSSIER PARISH, LA- Phone Scam Circulating in Bossier Parish. Detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office are warning Bossier residents about another round of phone scams circulating in the parish. LDWF Schedules Drawdown for Lake Bistineau
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has requested that the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) begin a drawdown of Lake Bistineau in Webster, Bossier, and Bienville parishes on Monday, July 29, 2024 for the purpose of reducing further expansion of giant salvinia. The drawdown will also benefit fisheries populations. LDWF will continue to monitor giant salvinia conditions in the lake in case adjustments to this date are necessary.

As of approximately 8:30 am this morning, 34,195 SWEPCO customers are still without power after yesterday's deadly storms in Northwest Louisiana and East Texas. The good news is that only five hours previously, around 3:30 am, that number was just over 40,000 customers, so at least there is movement in the right direction.
