Five people are facing charges after a shooting in Brockton resulted in a police chase ending in Easton, according to authorities.

Brockton Police say they responded to a reported shooting near Fitzpatrick Circle around 4:15 p.m.

“I’m still very emotional,” said one woman who didn’t want to be on camera since she was still shaken up after a bullet went through her door and into a front window.

She spoke with Boston 25 News through a broken window as glass was left shattered on her doorstep.

“I have to clean up, but in my mind, I keep thinking something worse could have happened,” said the woman.

An SUV fled the scene after the shooting and allegedly led police on a chase to Easton, where it crashed on Route 138, damaging a cruiser.

Officials say no injuries were reported in the police cruiser crash.

“Police rushed to the scene, we caught up with the vehicle and police started pursuing that vehicle through Brockton and it ended in Easton with a crash,” said Darren Duarte, Public Information Officer for the Brockton Police Department.

Four suspects tried escaping from the crashed SUV on foot. Three of the suspects were apprehended by Brockton officers, who say they also recovered three guns from the scene. Easton Police officers reportedly captured the fourth suspect.

Authorities say a fifth suspect was arrested on Chatham West Drive and a fourth gun was recovered there.

“Here’s a case where there was a shooting, there could have been more shootings, we got the suspects and nobody was injured, and we recovered four illegal guns that could have been involved in future cases that won’t be now,” said Duarte.

While no one was hurt, it was startling for the family that had to see a bullet tear through their home from this shooting that started this whole crime spree across two towns.

“My son was upstairs and I thank God nothing happened to him,” said the woman.

The names of the five suspects are not being released at this time and it’s unclear what charges they will face.

Heavy traffic delays were reported in the Route 138 area while police investigated.

No further information was immediately available.
