    BPD seeks public’s help in identifying alleged serial robber

    Boston Police Department detectives are seeking public assistance in identifying an individual allegedly involved in four unarmed robberies that occurred in Hyde Park, Mattapan, Jamaica Plain, and West Roxbury between June 8 and Aug. 4.

    Since June, the male suspect has allegedly been routinely following victims from a bus or train station and “forcibly” ripping gold chains from their necks, according to a statement from the Boston Police Department.

    Victims have been between the ages of 60 and 70 years old, police said.

    Police described the man as Hispanic, 5’6” in height, and 18-20 years old, wearing a hooded sweatshirt tightened around his head.

    Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact District E-18 detectives at 617-343-5607.
