South Boston’s Brody Byrne has moved into the third and final round of the Ultimate Mullet Competition to support a non-profit that provides homes for wounded veterans.

Voting lasts until Aug. 21, and the top three mullets will be announced on Aug. 28.

“We’re feeling pretty strong,” Brody’s father, Michael Byrne, told Boston.com. “We have a lot of support.”

The 7-year-old and only kid from Boston participating in the competition has been raising thousands of dollars for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors.

Brody’s parents held a “Mullets and Margaritas” fundraiser on Tuesday at Loco South Boston, raising nearly $2,000 for the cause that night.

“A lot of people turned out to come,” Byrne said. “It was a very fun party.”

Byrne said Brody is getting a haircut to “get himself prepared for the final round.”

“He’s definitely keeping the mullet,” Bryne said. “He’s just getting a fresh trim for the final round.”
