This Maine farm has the best pumpkin patch, corn maze in America, according to USA Today readers

‘Tis the season for pumpkin patches and corn mazes and a farm in Maine just ranked No. 1 in the nation for both.

USA Today recently released its list of best fall activities in America, part of its 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Treworgy Family Orchards in Levant, Maine ranked No. 1 for best pumpkin patch and best corn maze.

Wrote USA Today, “there’s just something about visiting a pumpkin patch, many with hayrides and yummy treats, that puts you in the fall spirit.”

About Treworgy, the publication wrote, “When visiting Treworgy Family Orchards, you may want to hop aboard the hayride or take a horse-drawn farm tour so you can get a good look at the expansive pumpkin patch. After all, it covers 8 miles of rows! Once you find the pumpkin you want, you can visit the goats or celebrate with ice cream.”

The corn mazes on the list are among the nation’s “most exemplary,” wrote USA Today, “both for the quality of the mazes themselves and for the wealth of other activities on offer.”

“Home to the longest continually running corn maze in the state, Treworgy Family Orchards’ maze covers over 4 acres and consists of 60,000 corn plants grown to a height of 10 feet,” wrote the publication about the Treworgy maze. “Guests who find the center of the maze can enjoy signing their names to the Hall of Fame Board.”

Two other New England farms made the best corn maze list: the Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville, Vermont ranked No. 4 and Davis Mega Maze in Sterling, Mass. ranked No. 8.

For best apple orchard, Libby & Son U Picks in Limerick, Maine ranked No. 2 and Red Apple Farm in Phillipston, Mass. ranked No. 9. The No. 1 apple orchard in the U.S. is Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards in Lafayette, N.Y.
