Twenty years after the Red Sox’ historic World Series win, Netflix has dropped the trailer for upcoming docuseries “The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox,” which will recount the team’s journey to break their 86-year championship drought.

“No team had ever come back from being down 3 games. Until the Red Sox did,” Netflix posted on X on Wednesday, along with the trailer.

Set for release on Oct. 23, the series’ three episodes will take a deep dive into the team’s 3-0 series deficit, rivalry with the Yankees, and eventual win against the Cardinals that brought an end to the “Curse of the Bambino.” Each episode is an hour long.

“The Comeback” will feature exclusive interviews with legendary players Pedro Martinez, David Ortiz, and Kevin Millar, as well as former manager Terry Francona and former general manager and vice president Theo Epstein.

Meadowlark Media and Barnicle Brothers produced the documentary in connection with MLB, and Colin Barnicle directed.

Netflix is also putting out another Red Sox series in 2025, which will follow their 2024 season and include interviews with players and coaches.
