For the second day in a row, Patriots QB Drake Maye landed on the team’s injury report Thursday due to a knee ailment.

But even with those bumps and bruises following his first NFL start, Maye remained a full participant in practice Thursday — just as he was on Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m not concerned,” Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said of Maye’s status Thursday morning. “That’s for the head coach and trainers, but he looked good to me yesterday.”

Even though Maye was once again given the green light to practice on Thursday, the Patriots were still missing two starters on offense in left tackle Vederian Lowe (ankle) and running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot).

Both Lowe and Stevenson did not practice on Wednesday as well, potentially putting their availability for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars at London’s Wembley Stadium in doubt.

After not participating in Wednesday’s practice due to both illness and a groin injury, cornerback Marcus Jones returned as a limited participant Thursday.

The loss of New England’s starting left tackle and running back on Sunday would be a tough blow for New England as it tries to snap a five-game losing streak against a 1-5 Jacksonville team.

But so long as Maye is cleared for game action, the Patriots should be able to push the ball down the field — much as the team did during its Week 6 loss to the Texans.

So far, Van Pelt has been impressed with what he’s seen from the rookie QB over the last few weeks.

“Completely different,” Van Pelt said. “We had a period [Wednesday], another start-fast period, good on good against our defense in the red zone. I didn’t give him an answer for a zero blitz look that the defense presented and he got himself out of trouble with the protection adjustment and the route change into a touchdown.”

“So, for me, wow — he can get in there and make the calls he needs to make. I don’t know if he would have gotten that done in Week 1.”
