Angela Mercer was attending the “So What” singer’s Aug. 1 show at Boston’s Fenway Park with her sister-in-law Amy and mother Barbara when, not long after their arrival, the 31-weeks-pregnant Angela started having contractions. She called her doctor — who advised her to go to a hospital. “With all the traffic surrounding Fenway for the concert, Angela had trouble finding a ride to the hospital,” <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CvupBC_LzFU/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> social media posts </a> from the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/BrighamandWomensHospital/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Brigham and Women’s Hospital </a> read. Angela and her family decided the fastest way to get to the hospital — which was 1 mile away — was to walk, so they set out on their trepid journey. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> “Uber and Lyft, we ordered one of each and they weren’t going to get there, so I decided we had to walk because the baby was breech and I knew that,” Angela <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/angela-mercer-goes-into-labor-pink-concert-baby-fenway-park-boston-brigham-and-womens-hospital/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> told CBS station WBZ </a> . “I was very concerned he was in distress. It’s amazing. He was so early; a lot of things could have gone wrong. We’re in a good spot and just so happy,” Angela gushed, thanking the “exceptional team” at the hospital. “While the family didn’t get to enjoy the concert, they say they received the greatest gift of all — a healthy baby boy,” the hospital wrote in its post, adding that baby Aycen is currently being cared for in an Albany NICU, but not because of any “major concerns.” <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> While Angela missed the concert — which was part of Pink’s Summer Carnival stadium tour — the artist tweeted a celebratory message to the new parents on Thursday. “This is the sweetest!!!!!
