Boston Rental Market Remains "Strong And Tight"

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Housing experts say low inventory and steady demand are keeping Boston's rental market humming.

In fact, while the rental market historically didn't reach its boiling point until April, now the market is literally active throughout the year.

Currently, there already are rental listings posted to start in September some 8 months in advance.

Demetrios Salpoglou, CEO of Boston Pads , said the Boston rental market "Is strong and tight. For every 100 apartments in Boston, 99 of them are occupied at any given time," he said.

Asked if someone is looking for a decent apartment in Boston starting in September, when would be the right time to begin that search? "I would tell them to start now," he said.
