According to The Boston Globe , a culinary trifecta is set to grace Boston ’s Downtown Crossing as Somaek ( 소맥 ), Temple Records , and Sushi @ Temple Records prepare to open their doors in March 2024. Acclaimed chef and restaurateur Jamie Bissonnette has joined forces with seasoned entrepreneurs Andy Cartin and Babak Bina to establish BCB3 , their innovative restaurant group.

Named after its founders—Bissonnette, Cartin, and Bina—BCB3 is a culinary collaboration that brings together over 80 years of combined restaurant experience. The trio shares a passion for not only food but also travel and music, which is reflected in the upcoming ventures. Bissonnette states , “We’re intentionally leading off BCB3 by introducing passion projects to Boston.” These projects aim to showcase the bold individual and collective identities of the founders.

Nestled at 11 Temple Place , Somaek, a Korean standout, will craft creative dishes influenced by Bissonnette’s Korean mother-in-law. Temple Records, a “spirit-forward” listening bar featuring Bissonnette’s personal record collection, will infuse the ambiance with an eclectic musical touch. Meanwhile, beneath the beats of Temple Records, Sushi @ Temple Records will present a 20-seat subterranean sushi den, creating a threefold culinary and entertainment experience like no other.

The ambiance across the three spaces promises a blend of cultural richness, musical nostalgia, and culinary excellence, each concept contributing its own harmonious symphony of flavors and atmospheres. As anticipation builds for the March grand opening, Downtown Crossing’s cultural landscape is poised to soar, spotlighting the creativity and expertise of these seasoned restauranteurs.
