BOSTON ( WBZ NewsRadio ) — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Boston and most of the Commonwealth.

The Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 1:00 A.M. on Tuesday until 1:00 A.M. on Wednesday for the majority of Mass. A High Wind Warning is also in effect for the Cape and Islands, with potential gust of wind up to 60 mph.

Most of the state is expected to get between 6 to 12 inches of snow , but some parts could see as much as 18 inches. The NWS also expects traffic to be heavily impacted with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times.

WBZ NewsRadio’s James Rojas asked residents how they expect the storm to impact their commute.

“You just [have] to be mindful of people in the traffic. Drive slow, keep safe,” said one resident.

“It affects my job a lot because I work for Uber. It’s kind of hard to work Uber during the snow. If it’s too much, I guess [I'm] done for the day,” said another resident.

“I’ve gotten stuck in traffic too many times to risk it anymore,” said one resident planning to stay at home.

“Avoid the foolish drivers out here,” said one resident willing to brave the conditions.

    WBZ's James Rojas ( @JamesRojasMMJ ) reports.
