BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The City of Boston will lift its snow emergency and parking ban at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The brunt of the snowfall is now forecasted to miss Boston as the storm drifts south.

Originally, Boston expected to see up to a foot of snow. Now AccuWeather forecasts the totals will range from three to six inches.

Because of "sudden and drastic changes to the forecast," vehicles violating the parking ban last night were not towed and the City of Boston is pausing its ticketing and towing until 4 p.m. tonight, according to Wu's announcement.

As of 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Boston had not yet received any snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Some towns in western Mass., like Charlton, had received about five inches. Marston Mills and Falmouth had both received half an inch.

Space savers will still be permitted until 4 p.m. on Thursday, according to Wu's announcement.
