    Here's what's going on around Boston the week of Feb. 26.


    Monday, 2/26

    The Boston Public Library hosts a family-friendly historical scavenger hunt, 4pm.

    📰 Journalists Ellen Clegg and Dan Kennedy will be at the Harvard Book Store to talk about their new collaboration "What Works in Community News: Media Startups, News Deserts, and the Future of the Fourth Estate," a look at success stories in the digital media era.

    Tuesday, 2/27

    The Boston Public Library's Special Collections is hosting an open house to showcase the work of Black authors, artists and creators, 2pm-4pm.

    • That includes two paintings by Boston artist Allan Rohan Crite.

    Learn how to build a "boob pot" at Lamplighter CX, 6:30pm-8pm. The 90-minute workshop teaches pottery basics and includes a beginner kit.

    Catch Boston Moth StorySLAM at Arts at the Armory in Somerville, 6:30pm-9:30pm.

    • The theme: Chemistry.

    Wednesday, 2/28

    The Boston Public Library hosts a lecture on discoveries made from the Boston Harbor Islands, 6pm-7pm.

    🤔 Constitutional scholar Cass Sunstein and neuroscientist Tali Sharot , co-authors of "Look Again: The Power of Noticing What Was Always There," will speak at the Cambridge Public Library, 6pm.

    • Their new book is about how to overcome desensitization and the negative habits we all establish over time simply by not noticing.

    🍻 The Broken Records Beer Hall in Brighton hosts " extreme music bingo ," 7pm-9pm.

    🎶 Berklee Performance Center presents "The Black Book Cypher: An Invitation/To Talk Back/To The Screen," a multimedia hip-hop composition by scholar Queen D. Scott, 8pm-19pm.

    • Price : $12 in advance; $17 day-of.

    Thursday, 2/29

    🧘🏾‍♀️ Catch a free "spring" yoga class at the Harvard Ed Portal in Allston, 6pm-7pm.

    🧀 Curds & Co in Brookline celebrates leap day with a class on cheese pairings, wine and other snacks, 7pm-8pm.

    🖼 Harvard Art Museums at Night presents the opening of a new exhibit , "LaToya M. Hobbs: It's Time," 5pm-9pm.

    • The museum will sell food and snacks and host a Q&A with the artist.

    Friday, 3/01

    The Boston Baltic Film Festival kicks off Friday, 5pm at the Emerson Paramount Center.

    • The festival runs through Sunday.
    • Price : $15.

    The Wine Emporium in Boston hosts a Georgian wine tasting , 5pm-7pm.

    💪🏿 Actor Carl Weathers recently passed away and there's no better way to celebrate his life and work than watching him get his arm blown off and chest impaled by a vicious alien.

    • "Predator" plays Friday night at 9:30pm at the Brattle.

    🍁 The Somerville Community Growing Center hosts the 25th annual Maple Boil Down , 11am-2pm.

    • Taste syrup collected from sugar maple trees on Tuft University's campus.

    🎨 CultureHouse Union Square hosts the Punk Rock Art Meetup and Market , 1pm-5pm.

    🍻 Sam Adams Brewery celebrates its 40th anniversary with a festival at its Jamaica Plain taproom.

    • General admission gets you 15 beer samples.

    Sunday , 3/3

    📖 Author Dennis Lehane speaks at the Boston Public Library about his novel "Small Mercies" and the 50th anniversary of Boston Public Schools' desegregation order and bussing crisis.

    💗 Read My Lips , a woman-and-disability-run pop-up bookstore, takes over Winter Hill Brewing Company in Somerville, 11am-2pm.

    Night Shift Brewing in Everett hosts a women's month market , 12pm-5pm.

    • Plus: A DIY pottery painting station.
    • Pups are allowed in the outdoor courtyard (open weather permitting)
