A local eatery with existing sites in Cambridge’s Kendall Square and South Boston is preparing to expand with a new location.

Recent permits submitted to the city reveal that Shy Bird is gearing up for construction at 201 Brookline Ave in Boston ’s buzzy Fenway neighborhood. The establishment will occupy the first floor of a recently erected commercial building. Plans are in motion for the interior buildout, encompassing the installation of partitions, doors, finishes, and ceilings.

Founded in 2019 by co-owners Eli Feldman and Andrew Holden , Shy Bird is an all-day rotisserie, bar, cafe, and takeaway spot. Their mission is to provide “affordable, approachable, and accessible” dining experiencences, all while serving up “crave-able food, warmth, and hospitality.” Additionally, Shy Bird prides itself on “a serious beverage program that doesn’t take itself too seriously,” according to the eatery’s website.

The restaurant’s menu is extensive, covering breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and beverages. From overnight oats and breakfast wraps to salads, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, and soups, there’s something for every palate at Shy Bird. And don’t forget about the libations—cocktails, wine, beer, hard kombucha, and a variety of zero-proof cocktails are all on offer.

Feldman told What Now Boston that he and Holden aren’t quite ready to delve into the details of the forthcoming eatery. Stay tuned for updates, as more information is anticipated to surface this summer.
