After winning the Larry O’Brien trophy for the fourth time in his career, LeBron James’ stint with the Los Angeles Lakers has been filled with frustration and heartbreaks. They would either not make it to the NBA Playoffs or crash so badly that they got demolished. Rumors are swirling around about his possible departure from California. So, his presence during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ fourth game against the Boston Celtics could have meant something. Will The King reclaim his throne back with the Cavs?

    Hints of a Cavs reunion?

Some fans think that LeBron James’ attendance in this NBA Playoffs clash is a sign of his willingness to go back to the Cavs. Others also want him to suit up to replace Donovan Mitchell to give the home team a shot at tying the series. A lot of various reactions were mixed in too.

“Would anyone notice if he wore a number 45 jersey and played?” a fan wrote.

This sentiment kept coming around albeit in just different forms, “Too bad he can’t play tonight. The Cavs are in big trouble without Mitchell.”

Others were more keen on seeing if LeBron James was going to trade for someone from the Cavs to join the Lakers, “He either doing some scouting for LAL or determining who’s getting traded this off-season in Cleveland.”

Some were not too pleased with his presence in this Cavs game, “The only reason he’s here is cause he wants people talking about him. He knew Mitchell wouldn’t be playing so he wanted the attention. Nothing to read into. He just needs an ego boost cause he’s knocked out of the playoffs.”

The idea of James going back to the Cavs is not at all bad. He still played 35 minutes every night and nets 25.7 points per contest for the Lakers. His playmaking chops would greatly complement Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley too. After all, he still nets 8.3 assists a night. Moreover, his rebounds clock in at 7.3 per game and will make the Cavs a beast on the boards.

    Cavs vs. Celtics so far

Everything is going as expected in this NBA Playoffs matchup. The Cavs are spreading out their offense to multiple guys such that they cover the production of Donovan Mitchell. Max Strus has stepped up big by scoring 15 points before the end of the first half. Moreover, Caris LeVert is making the most of just 12 minutes of action by notching 13 points. Sam Merrill is also doing the same and has seven points so far against the Celtics.

Overall, the Cavs have been doing a great job at getting shots up. They have chucked up 44 attempts which dwarfs the Celtics’ 44 as of writing. However, they may need to improve their efficiency from the floor. JB Bickerstaff’s rotation has only managed to knock down 45.7% of their shots while the Celtics’ stroke has the ball seeing the bottom of the net 59.5% of the time.

There is still a lot that can happen in this matchup. Hopefully, the Cavs are able to hang on and tie the series up.
