It looks like a new spot is set to replace an old Irish pub in Dorchester ’s Fields Corner .

According to a licensing board hearing page , The Blarney Stone has filed a petition to transfer its license to Jodayaanfre, Inc., which plans to open a new establishment named Acapella’s at the 1505 Dorchester Ave space.

Acapella’s owner Yancarlo Fernandez confirmed this development with What Now Boston . However, he was occupied and said he would provide further details at a later date.

The 5,000-square-foot space would have two rooms and a kitchen on the first floor, featuring a seasonal outdoor patio with seating for up to 80 patrons.

Founded in 1965 by Michael Conlon and his partners, The Blarney Stone is recognized as the first pub to pour and distribute Guinness stout in the United States, according to Universal Hub. It is not yet clear whether the longstanding pub will search for a new space or if it’s closing for good.

More information about Acapella’s is expected to emerge following a meeting scheduled for today, June 5, 2024.
