A new Indian restaurant is headed to Boston ’s Fenway-Kenmore neighborhood, and it’s not your typical curry and tandoori joint.

Don’t Tell Aunty will soon open at 1080 Boylston St , occupying the former site of Boloco. The restaurant’s parent company, Flying Lion Hospitality Group , is also behind local chain Boston Halal , as well as Woburn’s South Indian hotspot, Godavari .

CEO of Flying Lion Koushik “Babu” Koganti said that Don’t Tell Aunty will serve as an Indian gastropub, the first of its kind in the state. The venue promises a blend of good music, positive vibes, and Indian tapas-style plates.

According to permits filed with the city, the 1,500-square-foot space is currently undergoing minor interior renovations to accommodate the new restaurant. The establishment will feature a dining area with seating for up to 48 patrons, a bar with seating for up to 5, and a kitchen in the rear.

Koganti hopes to debut Don’t Tell Aunty within the next couple of months.
