How to celebrate Pride Month around Boston

June and early July are packed with tea dances, marches, talks and other LGBTQ+ celebrations.

• Here's how the Boston area is commemorating Pride Month.

Friday, 6/7

The Boston Dyke March , an anti-capitalist, intersectional gender liberation, returns to the Parkman bandstand on Boston Common, 6pm.

• ASL interpretation, accessible by wheelchairs, strollers and scooters. An accessibility vehicle is available for those who need a ride for some or all of the march.
• Masks required.

Club Cafe hosts the Pride Anthem Friday , a 21+ event hosted by model Ava Glascott, 10pm.

• Price: $15.

Saturday, 6/8

The Boston Pride for the People parade kicks off on Clarendon Street and continues until the festival on Boston Common, 11am-12:30pm.

Nook at Bow Market in Somerville hosts “Drinks with the Girls,” a sapphic Pride afterparty, 9pm-12am.

Club Cafe is open all day and night for Pride, starting with brunch at 11am.

• Stop by to cool off, use the bathrooms or charge your phone.
• DJs start their sets at 2pm and continue until 2am.
• Price: Free until 8pm, then $20 cover.

Sapphic Nights and O'Keefe's are hosting a Pride Day party at O'Keefe's, 11am-whenever.

• Free entry, 21+.
• Followed by a free afterparty at the same spot, 10pm-2am.

Sunday, 6/9

Blend hosts a pop star drag brunch , 2000s edition, 11am-3pm.

Emceed by drag stars Lilly Rose Vlore and Stef_Anya.

Stop by Club Cafe’s Pride Tea Dance , playing everything from 70s disco to today’s anthems, 4pm-10pm.

• 21+, no cover.

Monday, 6/10

“It’s a Gay Boy Date,” a comedy dating show, returns to Club Cafe, 7:30pm-9pm.

• 21+

Tuesday, 6/11

Cambridge Public Library’s Central Square branch hosts a queer zine making workshop , 6pm-8pm.

Author Sarah Boyer discusses her book , "Coming Out, Becoming Ourselves: Lesbian Stories from the Boston Daughters of Bilitis, 1969-1999," at the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy, 7am-8pm.

The Broadway hosts Pride Community Supper , 7pm-10pm.

• Price: $40. Proceeds go to Gay For Good .

Thursday, 6/13

Mingle with other book lovers at the Thomas Crane Public Library's Pride book tasting and mixer, 6pm-8pm.

The Roslindale Film Society is screening "A League of their Own," the 1992 film, at Square Root in Rozzie, 6:30pm.

• Price: $10 in advance; $12 at the door. Ticket includes one free popcorn.

Friday, 6/14

Boston By Foot and The History Project, a nonprofit that shares New England LGBTQ+ history, lead a LGBTQ past walking tour , 2pm-3:30pm.

• Tour starts in front of the Massachusetts State House steps on Beacon Street.
• It also runs on June 15, 3pm-4:30pm; June 25, 5pm-6:30pm; June 28, 2pm-3:30pm; and June 29, 3pm-4:30pm.

Price: $17 for adults; $10 for children; children under 6 can join for free.

Saturday, 6/15

Shop from 15 local LGBTQ+-owned businesses at the PRIDE Market at Night shift Brewing in Everett, 12p-5pm.

• Organized by Boston Women’s Market.

Check out a Pride Month wine tasting at Barlette, 2pm-4pm.

Club Cafe hosts a tea dance for the bears , 4pm-10pm.

Queer Board Game Night returns to Club Cafe, 7pm-10pm.

Sam Adams holds a Pride pop-up vendor market at its downtown taproom, 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Thursday, 6/20

Queer in Cannabis presents the Big Queer Dance Party , 5pm-7pm.

• Includes a queer market and performances by drag performers Tara Dikhof, Heather Rose and Chanel the Angel.
• Price: $20. Proceeds benefit the Massachusetts Trans Political Coalition.

East End Books Boston in the Seaport hosts “Thom Gunn: A Cool Queer Life,” a talk between authors Michael Nott and Robert Pinsky, 6pm.

• Price: $5+. In person and virtual.

TransitMatters hosts a pride and transit event at Cathedral Station in the South End, 6pm-8:30pm.

• Includes light snacks.

The Harvard Book Store hosts psychiatrist Jack Turban to discuss his new book, "Free to Be: Understanding Kids & Gender Identity," 7pm.

• Joining him is author Schuyler Bailar, who was the first transgender athlete to compete on an NCAA Division 1 men's team.

The National Park Service leads an LGBTQ+ history tour on Beacon Hill, 12pm-1:30pm.

• Starts at the State House and ends at Faneuil Hall.

Lamplighter Broadway in Cambridge hosts its first Drag Story Hour , 11am-12pm.

The Black Pride Health Summit and Brunch return, this time a the Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building, 11am-3pm.

• Includes talks about cancer and Prep in Black and Latino communities, along with a simultaneous youth session on substance use disorder.

Catch “The So Homo” comedy show at Kushala Sip & Tapas Bar in Chelsea, 7pm-10pm.

The Black Pride Parade and Music and Arts Festival kicks off at Lena Park in Dorchester, 12pm-6pm.

• The parade ends at the festival in Franklin Park in the Shattuck picnic area.

That’s followed by Recovery “The Finale,” at sunset Cantina in Boston, 10pm-2am.
