    Mavericks vs Celtics

Game 1 of the NBA Finals was all Boston, as the Celtics dominated from start to finish, easily covering the 6.5-point spread. However, Game 2 could be a different story. We’ve already seen the Celtics lose Game 2 of a series twice during the playoffs. Both games were lost at home as considerable favorites. That’s not to say that Boston is going to lose on Sunday, but recent history suggests that it’s possible. It’s also worth mentioning that the Celtics are just 4-6 against the spread since the start of the conference semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Mavericks have played too well during the playoffs to repeat their lackluster performance from Game 1. This is now the fourth time in four series that Dallas has lost Game 1. However, the Mavs are 3-0 in Game 2 during the playoffs, winning all three games as a road underdog. Given how the Mavs have performed throughout the postseason, we’re willing to look past Game 1 and chalk it up to a long layoff and perhaps being unprepared for everything the Celtics bring to the table. But we fully expect a more competitive contest in Game 2, so we’ll lean toward the Mavericks to at least beat the 7-point spread.
