Jarren Duran should be an All-Star lock

Jon Lyons and Chris Scheim were on WEEI on Sunday and one of the topics they discussed was the improved play of the Red Sox. The guys, especially Lyons, felt outfielder Jarren Duran should be a lock for the American League All-Star team.

“There’s no doubt in my mind this guy (Duran) is an All-Star,” Lyons said. “He’s been great all year. He leads the team with a .283 average (as of Sunday), has 34 RBIs, really good defensively, and he’s got 19 steals. The Red Sox are an above average to decent team. They’re not elite, we know that.
But this dude has been awesome all year.”

Added Scheim: “Jarren Duran is a major reason why they are playing so well. Doesn’t this make you want to invest in this team?”

Of course, Duran added to his weekend heroics with a walk-off hit Monday night.
