    Rabbit, rabbit. It’s Fourth of July Week!

    DCR Morrissey Blvd Traffic Advisory

    Beginning on Sunday, June 30, 2024, and continuing through Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will close lanes along Morrissey Boulevard (both directions) from Freeport Street to Mt Vernon Street in the City of Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to accommodate lane striping work. Traffic patterns will be clearly marked, and a police detail will be on site.

    Boston Harborfest

    Boston Harborfest, one of the country’s largest Fourth of July festivals, returns to Boston Harbor and Downtown Boston for its 42nd edition July 1-4. The long-running festival, celebrating Boston’s revolutionary history and its everyday vibrancy, will feature dozens of events and activities, including live entertainment, historical re-enactments, integration with U.S. Navy Week, fireworks, and more. The latest event schedule is now available at www.bostonharborfest.com.

    Turn it around

    USS Constitution is scheduled to go underway from Charlestown Navy Yard on July 4th at 10:00 a.m in honor of Independence Day! USS Constitution’s cruise will be viewable from the Boston Harborwalk, Castle Island, and Charlestown Navy Yard. There will fire a 21-gun salute viewable from Fort Independence on Castle Island at approximately 11:30 a.m. While you’re out at Castle Island, you might as well get some lunch or ice cream at Sullivan’s! The turnaround will commemorate the 248th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

    Take a history walk – Taxes, Freedom, Independence

    “Taxes, Freedom, Independence” what have these meant along Boston’s waterfront and beyond? Join Friends of the Boston Harborwalk and Liz Nelson Weaver, Tuesday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. for a one-hour tour of the Wharf District to explore Revolutionary War themes. The tour begins promptly at the Boston Harbor Islands Welcome Center on the Greenway. Registration required.

    Yappy Hour at Cisco Brewery

    In partnership iwth Red Dog Pet Reserot, Yappy Hour at Cisco Brewery is back on Monday, July 1st from 5pm-7pm. There will be “paws-itevly” fantastic drinks, live music, pet portraits and more!
