Luke Kornet Re-Signs With The Boston Celtics On One-Year Deal

Luke Kornet has re-signed with the defending champion, the Boston Celtics, on a one-year deal. This was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski on X/Twitter.

The deal was orchestrated by Luke Kornet’s agents in Jim Tanner and Max Wiepking of Tandem to bring Kornet back to the defending champions in the Boston Celtics.

Luke Kornet, 28, is entering his 8th season in the NBA. He has finished the last 3 seasons with the Boston Celtics. His career averages are 5 PPG on 50.2% shooting, including shooting 32.3% from 3. He has averaged 3 RPG and 0.9 APG for his career. Last season with the Boston Celtics during their championship run, he averaged 5.3 PPG on 70% shooting, 4.1 RPG, and 1.1 APG in about 15 minutes per game. He also averaged one block per game last season as well.

While his role isn’t the biggest, he does offer solid minutes off the bench and can rebound and score efficiently enough for the Celtics. With the Celtics looking to win back-to-back championships with the same roster, you can look for Luke Kornet to play the same role for this Celtics team. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

After playing for 5 other teams (6 including the Celtics), it seems that Kornet has found a home in Boston where he can play an established role.
