    Austrian Airlines starts nonstop flights from Boston to Vienna

    Austrian Airlines starts its first nonstop flight service from Boston to Vienna today.

    State of play: Petra Schneebauer, Austrian ambassador to the U.S., and other dignitaries will hold a flag ceremony at Logan Airport to celebrate the new route.


    Zoom in: The airlines will start with six flights a week, according to a news release .

    • The flights are nine hours each way.
    • The flights from Boston to Vienna will typically take off at 5:10pm and arrive at 7:25am local time the next morning.
    • The flight back will leave at 10:40am and land in Boston at 1:50pm ET.

    Airlines have recently added more nonstop flights from Boston.

    • JetBlue started nonstop flights from Boston to Dublin and Paris, per The Boston Globe .
    • Frontier announced nonstop flights from Logan to Atlanta, Dallas-Forth Worth and Charlotte, starting in August.
    • Delta is launching a seasonal nonstop flight from Boston to Honolulu in November, per WCVB .
