No matter how much you love dogs, there's no way to make everyone around you love dogs, too, so finding a place to hang out with them in public can be tough, especially if you don't live in a particularly dog-friendly area. Sure, there are dog parks almost everywhere (though they are certainly not all created equal) but finding places like restaurants and bars to socialize and bring your dog along isn't always easy.
One bar in Boston is aiming to change all of that, though, and this place looks so cool that even if you didn't have a dog, it might still end up being your favorite hangout. What's a better combination than a cold beer in the summer while looking at adorable pups?
This TikTok video shared by @meetboston on Sunday, June 30 introduces what they say is New England's "first and only indoor dog park and bar."
Located in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston, the bar is called Park-9 at the Station and serves beer, wine, wine-based cocktails, and zero proof cocktails, and will serve Mexican food from a food truck on site, so basically, if you're in the area and have a dog, your weekend afternoons are set!
Just from the video, it seems like this place is a lot of fun. Even the cups that the drinks are served in have pictures of dogs on them â how cute is that?
Plus, there's more for your dog to do there than just sit around and watch their humans drink beer. There's a huge, fenced yard area for them to run around, a splash pad, and more than enough space in the shade for dogs and people to relax.
More About Boston's New Dog Bar
The official website for Park-9 makes it sound even more impressive: They have more than 17,000 square feet of outdoor space for dogs, and that's not even counting the indoor dog park, which is really going to come in handy during these blistering summer months when the heat is just too much.
There are a few things you need to know before going, though. All dogs at the bar must be fully immunized, flea and tick free, spayed or neutered, and at least four months old, among other requirements.
You can also check out a menu ahead of time online â there's some good stuff here, no matter what kind of tastes you have, and it includes several dog-friendly treats like a $5 pup cup that's described as "whipped cream, Beggin' bacon, beef sprinkles, mini bone on top."
I don't know a single dog who wouldn't love a place (or menu) like this. Here's hoping we'll see more and more places like this open up all over the country.
