    How are 2024 NBA draft prospects Anton Watson and Baylor Scheierman part of the Boston Celtics‘ future team building plans? Under the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement (CBA), the Celtics and other second apron ball clubs will be severely constrained in how they can add talent to the team.

    So it will be imperative for the Celtics’ front office to maintain a development pipeline through the draft to help keep Boston’s bench deep while the team aims to contend for titles. And Scheierman and Watson are just the two latest examples of that philosophy in action. With players like Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet looking at free agency now and in future offseasons, having players able to help replace them will be key.
