Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Brayan Bello has been the team's worst arm this year despite starting on Opening Day and signing a long extension before the season even began.

In his last start, Bello allowed a season-high seven runs on five hits and three walks over just 2 1/3 innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. And, following that, Boston pushed his next start back a day, giving him more time to rest and tinker with some things.

Before his start in Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park, Bello addressed the team's decision to move his start back.

“It’s the start of a new season for me. That’s how I’m treating it,” Bello said (via. The Boston Globe ). “I’ve done a lot of work to get back to being successful and set up the rest of the year. Mentally the break was good for me... I feel more relaxed right now and I have more confidence in myself... I need to minimize the walks and be more aggressive in the strike zone.”

If Bello can't bounce back against one of the worst teams in baseball, he may need a stint on the injured list or down in Triple-A.
