Zaire Alexander, 24, turned herself in after allegedly pulling the pink firearm on staff who tried to stop her from leaving without paying her bill.

A Charlestown woman is facing multiple gun and assault charges after allegedly pulling a loaded pink handgun on staff at a Chinatown restaurant during an apparent dine-and-dash attempt.

Boston police say the incident happened on June 29 around 10:15 p.m. at a restaurant on Washington Street. Multiple witnesses told investigators a man and a woman had entered the restaurant about 25 minutes prior, ordered food, and eaten, according to officials.

The pair finished their meals and got the bill, but instead of paying, the man allegedly left the restaurant, and the woman went to the restroom, according to police.

Officials said staff tried to get the man to stay and pay but were unsuccessful. Witnesses told police that when the woman came out of the restroom, she also tried to leave without paying. Staff confronted her, and she allegedly pulled the gun on employees, according to officials.

A struggle ensued, but a staff member was able to pull the gun away from the woman before she fled the scene in a vehicle, according to police.

Investigators recovered the firearm and determined it to be a pink .380 caliber semi-automatic firearm that was loaded with five rounds. Police also recovered a bullet that was ejected during the melee.

Police said the woman also left her social security card behind at the scene, along with several clothing and personal items.

Boston EMS treated one person at the restaurant for minor injuries.

The next day, around 12:30 p.m., Zaire Alexander, 24, of Charlestown, turned herself in at Boston Municipal Court. She was arrested and was due to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault and battery on an elderly person, and defrauding an innkeeper over $100.
