Former Celtics Champion Has Stunning Reaction To Looming Prison Sentence

Former Boston Celtics big man Glen Davis, better known as Big Baby, is heading to prison real soon. The 38-year-old seems to be somewhat excited about the idea of heading to the slammer for a few years.

Davis and over 20 other former NBA players were convicted last November for defrauding the NBA's health care system. The players had claimed over $5 million in fake insurance claims.

In May, a federal judge sentenced Big Baby to spend 40 months in prison and to pay $80,000 in restitution.

Davis was interviewed by TMZ earlier this week while leaving LAX. Asked about whether he has "prepared mentally" for his stint in prison, Davis shared that he was more than ready for the experience.

"I've been preparing mentally," said Davis. "About what I'm going to eat, how I'm going to live. ... I'm not nervous. I feel like I'm going to have a good, quality time in there. Learn things and meet new people. It's going to be alright."

Davis added that he has a huge goal for himself while locked up: get shredded. Big Baby implored "the ladies" to write to him as he starts his journey to getting "fine as hell."

"Just one time in my lifetime, I want to be fine as hell. Shout out to the ladies out there. Write me. I’ll be in there getting fine as hell. When I get out, call me Big Baby jailbait!"

In May, Davis went viral for a similar reaction after hearing about his sentence for the first time. Davis is slated to begin his sentence but does have an appeal pending, which could delay his incarceration.

Davis played eight seasons in the NBA, splitting time between the Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds across 500 regular season games.
