The Boston Celtics continue to bask in the glory of winning their 18th championship in franchise history, and their first since 2008. And recently, they extended two important players to huge contracts.

Jayson Tatum won the first title of what has been a remarkable career for the relatively young superstar, constantly keeping the Celtics in title contention alongside co-star Jaylen Brown. Boston made sure to bring out the brinks truck by giving him the biggest contract in NBA history for five years and $313.9 million.

He and Brown were not alone in finally getting the Celtics over the hump. Alongside Al Horford, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis, there was also Derrick White, the last who played a monumental role in making huge plays down the stretch en route to winning the 2024 NBA Finals.

Following Boston's title run, White reaped the fruits of his benefits by securing a four-year extension that goes up to $125.9 million. Once the Celtics officially announced the deal was signed, Tatum took to Instagram to celebrate his teammate getting paid.

White's contract was more than deserved. He arguably had the best year of his career to date by averaging 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, and a steal per game. He was named to the All-Defensive second team while finishing eighth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

He kept this performance throughout the postseason by putting up 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. He notably scored 22.4 points per game against Miami in the first round and had a memorable chasedown block in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against Dallas.

With their championship core back for more years of contention, keep an eye out for the Celtics as they look to defend their title.
