    FRIDAY, July 19: Toronzo Cannon bringing the blues to Norwood

    The 7 p.m. free concert at The Launch at Hingham Shipyard features he country-rock sounds of Blame the Whiskey. A punk rock showcase at The C Note in Hull, topped by Scotty Saints and the True Believers. The state's leading purveyors of disco, Booty Vortex, celebrate their 20th anniversary with a whole weekend of dance jams at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke. The Pretenders headline MGM Music Hall in Boston. Jams will be epic when Phish opens their three-night stand at The Xfinity Center in Mansfield. Taylor's Version is a celebration of you-know-who's music at Brighton Music Hall. Sam Reider and the Human Hands for Americana at Club Passim. Hip hop contingent The Lox take over Roadrunner in Allston. The Blue Ribbons rock The Lizard Lounge in Cambridge.     SUNDAY, July 21: Willie J. Laws Jr. coming to Plymouth

    Sunday afternoon's music at the John Alden Sportsman's Club in Plymouth at 1 p.m. features local bluesman Willie J. Laws Jr. and Italy's Roberto Morbioli. Sunday night, Washington, D.C., blues icons The Nighthawks perform a show dedicated to the late New Hampshire bluesman Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson at The Fallout Shelter in Norwood; The Foo Fighters rock Fenway Park in Boston; Los Angeles rock quintet The Strike hits Brighton Music Hall; The Old Crow Medicine Show, with Molly Tuttle opening, hosts a hoedown at Roadrunner in Boston; John Lodge from The Moody Blues is in concert at Memorial Hall in Plymouth; Comic Brian Glowacki is at Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis; Nutmeg State rockers Have a Nice Life stop off at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston; and the folk group known as The Crane Wives harmonize at Royale in Boston.
