Bronny James may have been the 55th overall pick this summer, but the guy is getting more attention than anyone from this year's draft. After Celtics star Jaylen Brown recently went viral for his hot take on Bronny, Rich Paul responded with support for his client and insisted that Jaylen didn't mean those words.

“You can't take everyone's opinion and try to turn it against them," said Paul on the Pat McAfee show. "They have opinions. They can say what they wanna say. At least he is someone who is actually in the league because there's a lot of 'experts' with no expertise but he's actually an expert with expertise. So he can have an opinion but I know Jaylen and I know he doesn’t mean that… He’s just having a conversation. It's just the world we live in today, like why would he think that someone's got a video of him saying that? But Bronny's gonna keep his head down, continue to work and use these things as fuel."

The video in question here was taken during the Lakers last summer league game when Jaylen Brown was caught admitting to his partner that Bronny was "not a pro." He later commented on the viral moment with a message of support for James -- although he did not deny the claims of his words about Bronny.

Bronny is the oldest son of LeBron James and he was just drafted by the Lakers with the 55th overall pick. After a modest season at USC, where he averaged 4.8 points per game for the Trojans, James decided to head straight for the league instead of staying another year in college to develop his game further.

Rich Paul claims that multiple teams had an interest in Bronny but thanks to his threats of playing in Australia, he landed with the only team he wanted to play for: the Lakers. Since hearing his name called, Bronny's life has changed and the pressure is officially on him to prove that he belongs here and that his roster spot was earned, not given.

The 19-year-old shined for his smart play and maturity but he hasn't impressed on the court so far. In fact, his struggles have been one of the biggest stories of Summer League . In the Lakers' last game, he finished with just 2 points on 1-5 shooting in 25 minutes.

With so much time left to prove himself, it would be careless to try and make any conclusive statements on Bronny's game right now. Whether you think he's an NBA-level player or not, he still has an opportunity to improve his skills and make himself useful on the court. Now that his future on the Lakers is secured with a four-year, $7.9 million contract he'll have all the time in the world to make a lasting impression on the team and carve out a permanent place in the rotation.

LeBron and millions of fans will be rooting for his success but plenty of others have already decided that he's not ready for the big leagues just yet. at this point, the best thing for Bronny may be to send him to the South Bay Lakers in hopes that he can reach another level of his game out there, If not, Bronny's stay in the NBA might not be for very long.
