For 14 seasons, David Ortiz was the face of the Boston Red Sox and one of the most feared hitters in all of baseball.

He was a 10-time All-Star, seven-time Silver Slugger, and three-time World Series champion, leading to his induction into the Hall of Fame after his retirement.

However, Ortiz had another reason to celebrate on Tuesday, as the Red Sox selected his son, D'Angelo, in the 19th round of the 2024 MLB draft.

Later in the day, Ortiz was part of the FOX pre-game broadcast for the All-Star game, and Ortiz shared his thoughts on the moment.

"That was unbelievable," Ortiz said about speaking to his son after he was drafted. "It's a great feeling. When you see your kids moving forward in their lives toward success and all of this stuff, a lot of emotions go through you. Big boy, let's do it. Daddy loves you."

What an incredible moment for the father and son. The younger Ortiz will have so many people rooting him on as he takes the next steps in his baseball journey in the Boston farm system.
