Red Sox give up six HRs in 9-6 loss to Dodgers

On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers met at Dodger Stadium for the series finale of their three-game set, and Alex Cora's team was handed a 9-6 loss.

Boston's starter Kutter Crawford was beat up in this one, giving up six runs on seven hits, including five home runs over five innings. The long ball has been a problem for him this season, and it didn't stop in this one.

Bailey Horn and Chase Anderson both pitched an inning in relief, but for the first time in a while, Kenley Jansen really struggled, giving up three runs on three hits over his inning of work.

Cora's offense was fine, scoring six runs on nine hits, but striking out 14 times and going just 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position was their downfall.

Jarren Duran (2-for-5) drove in four of the runs, including two on a two-run home run in the first inning. Masataka Yoshida (1-for-3) and Ceddanne Rafaela (2-for-4) drove in one run each.

This loss dropped Boston to 53-45 overall and 29-20 on the road. It's also just the second time this season that the Red Sox have been swept in a three-game series.

Boston will remain on the road for another three-game set beginning on Monday with the Colorado Rockies.
