The Boston Red Sox have plenty of talented hitters in their farm system, but they've lacked arms for some time.

However, early this week, we've seen some of Boston's pitching prospects get promoted to various levels.

Right-handed pitcher David Sandlin and left-handed pitcher Connelly Early are being promoted to Double-A Portland ( via. Andrew Parker ) while left-hander Noah Dean is moving up to High-A Greenville.

Sandlin, 23, is the team's No. 9 prospect (SoxProspects ) and was acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Royals earlier this year for reliever John Schreiber. In 10 starts for High-A Greenville in 2024, Sandlin has posted a 5.12 ERA with a 1.326 WHIP while striking out 50 batters.

Early, 22, was Boston's fifth-round pick last year out of Virginia, and he's currently the No. 24 prospect in the system. In 15 starts for Greenville, he posted a 3.72 ERA and a 1.138 WHIP while striking out 90.

Dean, 23, was Boston's fifth-round pick in 2022 out of Old Dominion, and he's currently the No. 47 prospect in the system. In 15 games (13 starts) for Salem this year, he's posted a 3.96 ERA and a 0.962 WHIP while striking out 86.
