NBA Superstar Joel Embiid Makes His Opinion Of Boston Celtics Crystal Clear

Are the Boston Celtics a super-team? If you ask Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, the answer is a clear yes. On a podcast appearance, Embiid cited Jayson Tatum as part of the reason why he believes the Celtics are a super-team.

Joel Embiid notes that despite being the star of the Celtics, Jayson Tatum can have a 5-for-20 shooting night and they still can win the game. It's a rather interesting take from Embiid.

“If I go 5-20, we get blown out," Embiid pointed out.

There's some semblance of truth in that statement. During the first two games of the 2024 NBA Finals Tatum struggled to get going from the floor. Despite that, the Celtics were still able to easily defeat the Dallas Mavericks.

Does that make the Celtics a super-team? Perhaps it does. It was an unintentional jab at Tatum, but it's also a reflection of how Embiid feels about his team.

Embiid and Tatum are currently in London in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
