"I was thinking like, 'What if I die right here on the spot, right here?'"

A 9-year-old boy told police two suspects threatened him with a gun and stole his phone at a Dorchester playground on Thursday.

At about 6:35 p.m., officers responded to a radio call for a person with a gun at 18 Fernboro St., according to a police report.

The boy and another victim told police that the two males approached them at Children’s Park and demanded they give them their shoes and said they owed them money before pointing a gun at them and stealing their cell phone, the report says.

“I was terrified,” the boy told NewsCenter 5. “I was thinking like, ‘What if I die right here on the spot, right here?'”

The suspects fled down Intervale Street toward Blue Hill Avenue. Officers located two individuals matching the descriptions the victims provided; they were then detained.

Officers took custody of the victim’s cell phone and the firearm, which turned out to be fake, the report states.

Both suspects will be arraigned at Dorchester District Court and charged with armed robbery and threat to commit a crime.
