Boston Herald reporter Gabrielle Starr interviewed Boston Red Sox Chief of Baseball Operations Craig Breslow about possible prospect promotions after moves made for the trade deadline, which Breslow responded to by smiling and saying “I have no idea who you’re talking about.” Here are some prospects who may be making their debut in The Show soon.

Marcelo Mayer, shortstop: Mayer is the number one prospect in the Minors for the Sox, and he is due to make his debut very soon. A great defensive shortstop, Mayer could provide even more defense at one of baseball’s hardest positions to play. He is averaging .308 in the Minors with eight home runs in 76 games.

Roman Anthony, outfielder: Anthony put on a clinic at the Future Skills Showcase, winning it all. Anthony is a great five tool prospect that could make his debut sooner than later as well. He is currently hitting .247 with 11 home runs in 74 games.

Kyle Teel, catcher: Teel was drafted last year, and he already is tearing it up in the Minors. After four years at the University of Virginia winning multiple accolades, Teel started a tear through the Minors, hitting .311 with 11 home runs in 100 games. Teel is one of the best defensive catchers in the Minors, and he probably would be an offensive upgrade over Reese McGuire, and could platoon with Connor Wong as a lefty-righty combo.

Any of these players could get right into the pros and do well, and it is only a matter of time before they get the call.
