The Boston Celtics released a video detailing the coaching career of iconic Celtics center Bill Russell on the eve of his Hall of Fame induction, detailing how the Boston legend was a trailblazer (the non-Portland variety) for people of color rising to leadership positions within major North American sports.

Russell was not only a hall of fame coach for his tenure with the Celtics, however. The Louisianian was also the head coach of the Seattle SuperSonics and Sacramento Kings after leaving the team he rose to prominence with in the 1950s and 1960s.

Watch the tribute put together by the Celtics in the video embedded below to commemorate the career of Russell on the other side of the clipboard, now one of just five persons admitted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and a coach.
